Finding new friends is one of the most difficult tasks for a lot of people, especially in a foreign country. A lot of people imagine being a foreigner will make it easier to find new friends as everyone will be excited to meet them. However, in reality, people already have their own friend groups and may not be that inquisitive to know you.

The host family is undeniably essential and influential to exchange students. Miscommunication and incompatibility between the host family and the student is inevitably one of the primary reasons for early-return.
